A day at the beach - what to pack
Spending a day at the beach is easily one of our most favourite pastimes in Australia. Most of us remember days spent at the beach as children, with our families. And because we want to make the same memories with our kids, we eagerly make plans to take them to the beach to experience the same fun in the sun that we had when we were young.
The problem is ... what to take?
Don’t pack unnecessary items or excessively. It’s natural to think that packing more than enough means you’re being prepared. However, the last thing you want to do is lug too many things on your trip, especially if you have young children to attend to. Don’t be tempted to pack too much food, too many extra clothes, and all your kids’ favourite toys. Remember, the beach offers more than enough fun to keep them occupied.
We have a few ideas of what constitutes 'beach essentials' to help you out.
What to pack in your beach bag. Here are some beach essentials:
- Sunscreen
- Bathers and a rashie to cover up
- Thongs
- Sunnies
- Towels
- Hat
- A change of clothes
- Snacks (it’s always good to have snack with a bit of freshness, like watermelon. But remember to keep it cool).
- Water bottles
- A bag for your rubbish
- A bag for damp bathers, towels and clothes
- Your own shade.
Not too cumbersome! Enjoy your day at the beach 😁.
